Schenck started as a distributor for Miller Brewing in 1954, and its major business still lies with MillerCoors, but it also distributes a wide range of craft beers in its territory of Orange, Lake, Osceola, Polk and Seminole counties

Orlando-based Schenck, the nation’s 20th largest beer distributor, employs more than 500 people. Among the craft beers it distributes are Anchor Steam, Bell’s, Boulder Beer, Dogfish Head, Brew Dog, Rogue, Samuel Adams, Stone and Terrapin, as well as products from Florida-based breweries such as Orlando Brewing and Dunedin Brewing.

A spokeswoman for Reyes Holding told the Orlando Business Journal that all Schenck employees will be retained.

“From six employees distributing Miller Brewing Company products in 1954 to the 500 strong team we have today I am proud of Schenck Company’s history, and feel privileged to have worked with so many great people,” said Schenck CEO Jay G. M. Schenck in the news release. “Joining Reyes Holdings is an outstanding opportunity to continue the superb service and traditions Schenck is known for.”

The transaction is expected to close in April.
