Tampa Bay Beer Week 2013 Day Three: Cigars & OMG at Rapp Brewing Co.

Monday evening brought me to the Pinellas County side of Tampa Bay for the Cigars & OMG event at Rapp Brewing Co.

Founder and brewmaster Greg Rapp and his crew poured from bottles of his delicious OMG, a 20+% ABV monster of a strong ale – and, as usual, the 20 taps of his beer in the tasting room.

They also provided complimentary cigars and some food, including a do-it-yourself strawberry shortcake bar.

Tampa Bay Beer Week 2013 Day Two: Brewers Ball and BFB Championship

Our next video was taken Sunday at the Cuban Club during the Brewers Ball and Best Florida Beer Championship.

I tried to get some of the frothy action and the Best in Show announcements.

Tampa Bay Beer Week 2013 Day One: Florida Brewers Guild Beer Fest

It’s only the third official day of Tampa Bay Beer Week, and my liver is already looking forward to the end of it. The rest of me is loving it, though.

Rather than writing about the events I attend, I’m bringing along my still-trusty Flip video camera and plan to post short videos as the week moves along.

In direct contrast to the preceding statement, this first video clocks in at more than six minutes, but there were a lot of things going on at the Florida Brewers Guild Beer Fest on Saturday. And it includes an exclusive interview with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who talks about his love of fermented beverages and the importance of the area’s craft brewing industry to the local economy.
