The third-best brewery tour in the nation
– Bob Lorber
I toured Cigar City Brewing the other day, the first time I’ve been led by head tour guide Bob Lorber.
I brought him a funny hat to wear, and if anyone else is taking the tour and wants to bring one along, feel free, he says.
Anyway, here’s a little photo gallery with some possibly inappropriate captions, most of them total fiction.
In all seriousness, Bob is an excellent tour guide and a friend of mine. He’ll have you snorting beer through your nose with his banter during the tour.
Tours are held Wednesday through Saturday on the hour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s advisable to sign up in advance on the website because they are limited to 20 persons per tour. Cost is $5, but that includes a brew to sip on the tour and a pint glass to take home. More information here.
Oh, and tips are accepted.
Bob:
The “Cop” from Pasco County might just have to come and do a tour with you so I can see for myself what a jovial guy you are. I expect you to wear the funny red hat!!!
Not just jovial, but affable as well.
Ive been looking for Mr Lorber for some time now. I have a box of Table Talk I must return to him!
Tim Counts…. TP rathand and quite for Jamie , come take a tour
I toured the brewery with him during Tampa Bay Beer Week. He was a hoot. Definitely a good guy.
But was he wearing a funny hat?
Yes. One day I to must tour the brewery and converse with this “Bob Lorber”. He seems to be a right jovial character.
Jocular, as well.
Hahaha! I love it!!
