Orlando craft beer scene will get a new player

Photo by Sam Howitz on FlickrOrlando’s new Amway Center continues to lure new businesses to the downtown area near the Orlando Magic’s home court. Today, a new craft beer-focused restaurant announced that it soon will open its doors on Church Street, directly across from the arena.

Draft Global Beer Lounge & Grill will feature 40 drafts on tap and more than 100 beers in bottles. The décor is described as contemporary, with “custom-lit rooms, plush, private sofa seating and expansive acrylic bar.”

Owner Willie Fisher has more than 18 years’ experience in the restaurant and entertainment business.

“We’re excited to introduce Draft, a combination of an upscale restaurant-bar-lounge with a laid-back vibe,” Fisher said in a statement.  “Draft will place downtown Orlando in the epicenter of the popular craft beer trend and will be a very unique gathering place.”

Draft will be serving lunch and dinner dishes Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

As further details are released, updates will be posted here on Beer in Florida.
