Cigar City Brewing shares a few more details about planned brewpub

Cigar City Brewery founder and owner Joey Redner responded to an email I had sent a few days inquiring about the details of the planned Cigar City Brewpub in Tampa.

He said there wasn’t a lot more he could tell me because so much is still in the planning stages, but he did share a few more tidbits of information, and clarified some of the details in this previous post.

  • It will likely be a 3 barrel brew house since the brewery already owns a 3 bbl system, and they plan to double batch brew into 7 bbl fermenters.
  • The opening is planned for February or March.
  • Neither a brewer nor a chef has been hired for the brewpub. “I am speaking with a handful of chefs and should have a final pick after GABF,” Redner said. “We don’t have a brewer for the location yet to handle the brewpub only beers but we are looking.”
  • Plans for carry-out sales include growlers and limited package sales.
  • The space in the former TGI Friday’s building will seat 250 or more.
