One of the biggest beer festivals in Florida will be happening Saturday … and I won’t be there. I’ll give you a moment to compose yourself at this awful turn of luck. Well, not really awful. It’s just that I had already planned some family time, which means the Florida Brewers Guild Brewfest in Ybor City on Saturday will not be on my beer calendar this year. But if any of you want to send me some photos and notes about it, I’d be glad to put together a living-vicariously roundup post.
- You would think with a festival of that caliber happening this weekend, the rest of the state would back off. But no! I came across the website of the inaugural Space Coast Craft Beer Festival in Palm Bay. It’s happening “right in front of the Broken Barrel Tavern.” Sure, you think, a few widely distributed crafts, some mockrobrews and plenty of fizzy yellow beer. But no! Check out this list of the beers being poured there; it’s impressive. I’m penciling in this for next year.
